Do I have to be a competitive swimmer to join a squad?
Our Squads aren’t just for preparing for swim meets; they’re also a fantastic way to stay fit, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team.
While it is expected that all swimmers are capable in the water or come from a swimming background, we strongly recommend that swimmers join Commercial Swimming Club to take full advantage of our coaching, support, and community.
What type of equipment do I need for squad swimming?
What type of equipment do I need for squad swimming?
All swimmers must bring a swimsuit, goggles, and swim cap to every session. Each squad also requires a kickboard, fins, pull buoy, and paddles to support skill development and performance. As swimmers move into higher-level squads, any additional equipment requirements will be communicated directly.
We recommend using DMC Training Fins for optimal propulsion.
What is the commitment required to join a swim squad?

Once you’ve completed your Squad Assessment and joined a squad, swimmers are expected to attend as many training sessions as possible across the weekly timetable.
Consistent attendance supports steady improvement, builds endurance, and is essential for long-term success in competitive swimming. All squad members are also required to represent Commercial Swimming Club at designated competitions and events.
